Chat on your website

A chat bubble on your website, answered by the same AI, bots and team as WhatsApp.

Put a chat bubble on your website. Visitors chat with the same AI, bots and knowledge base that answer on WhatsApp, and your team replies from the Inbox. Open Settings → Website chat.

Switch it on

  1. Tick Show the chat on my website.
  2. Give it a title, a line under the title and the first message visitors see.
  3. Choose your colour and the corner (bottom right or bottom left).
  4. Choose when to ask for the visitor's name and number:
    • After the first answer (recommended): visitors start chatting straight away; after the first reply they are asked for their details and may skip.
    • Before they can chat: every chat comes with a name and number.
    • Don't ask.
  5. Change the Message after the visitor shares their details if you like (by default: "Thanks for sharing your details! Please go ahead and ask your question.").
  6. Click Save, then Try it to chat as a visitor would.

Add it to your website

Copy the one line of code from Add it to your website and send it to your web developer, or add it yourself:

  • WordPress: install the free WPCode plugin, open Code Snippets → Header & Footer, paste the code into Footer and save.
  • Your own website: paste the code just before </body> on every page.
  • Shopify: Online Store → Themes → ⋯ → Edit code → theme.liquid, paste before </body>.
  • Wix: Settings → Custom code → Add custom code, "Body - end", all pages.

To open the chat from your own button or link, use NezlerChat.open().

Answer website chats

Website chats show in the Inbox with 🌐 and the page the visitor was on. Everything works as on WhatsApp: AI and bots answer first, you can Take over, add notes, assign and transfer. There is no 24-hour rule: you can reply any time, and the visitor sees your reply when they come back to the website.

Where your reply goes: while the visitor is on your website (or was, in the last 30 minutes) replies go to the website chat, and the chat shows on the website now. After that, if you have their number, replies go on WhatsApp: a normal message if they wrote to you on WhatsApp in the last 24 hours, otherwise an approved template. Next to the reply box, 🌐 Website / 💬 WhatsApp lets you choose yourself.

Move the chat to WhatsApp: click 💬 Offer WhatsApp. The visitor is asked "Would you like to continue this chat on WhatsApp?". Yes opens WhatsApp on their phone or computer with a message already typed; they just press send. It's free (they send the first message, so no template is needed), and the website chat joins their WhatsApp number, so the AI and your team see the whole conversation. No keeps the chat on the website.

Files you send from the inbox open only for that visitor. Templates still go on WhatsApp, so they need the visitor's number.

Website leads

When a visitor shares their number they become a contact. If that number has written to you on WhatsApp before, the two chats are joined, so you see one customer with one history. Settings → Website chat shows how many visitors chatted and how many shared their number in the last 30 days.

Keep it on your websites only

Under Websites allowed list your websites (for example example.com; sub-domains like www. are included). Other websites can't show your chat. If your code was copied somewhere else, click make a new code and put the new code on your website.
